White text with the shadow on reads on most photos. On a pale sky or a white wall, switch to a dark colour instead of making the text bigger.

Edit text in an image: what this photo text editor cannot do

It cannot recognise, erase or retype words that are already part of a JPG, such as the date on a poster or the name on a screenshot. Those words are pixels, not text. The workable route is to crop that strip off, or place your new line over it with a contrasting colour. It also has no stickers, frames or filters; it writes text and nothing else.

Photo text editor: common questions

How do I add text to a photo?

Upload the photo, tap + Add Text, type your words in the Edit Text box, then tap the photo where the text should sit. Tap Download to save the photo with the text as a JPG.

Can I edit text that is already in an image?

No. This editor writes new text on top of the photo; it cannot read, erase or retype words that are already part of the picture. To hide old text, crop it out first, or cover it with your new line.

Can I add more than one line of text?

Yes. Each tap on + Add Text makes a new layer with its own font, size, colour and position. Pick a layer in the Text Layers list to change it, or tap ✕ to delete it.

Can I type in Hindi?

Yes, you can type Hindi or another Indian script. None of the seven fonts in the list covers Devanagari, so your browser draws it with a font from your device; check the preview before you download.

Will the saved photo be smaller than my original?

Only if it is wider than 900 px. The editor scales larger photos down to 900 px wide before you add text, and saves a JPG at quality 95 (tool code, checked 18 Oct 2026).
