How to make a passport size photo with white background
- Stand in front of a plain white wall in daylight, face the camera and take the photo. If the wall is not white, run the photo through the background remover first.
- Upload it above and pick the preset that matches your form.
- Use Zoom and the two position sliders to place the face, then tap Generate Passport Photo.
- Tap Download Single for an upload, or Download 4-up Sheet to print.
Passport size photo maker: the sizes it saves
Each print preset is drawn at 300 dots per inch, so a 3.5 cm side becomes 413 pixels. The saved file is a JPG at quality 95.

Which passport size does your form want?
Use the size printed in the form’s own photo instructions, not one from a blog. Some forms write the size as 4.5 cm × 3.5 cm, height first; that is the same photo as the 3.5 × 4.5 cm preset. For an Indian passport, read the photo rules on Passport Seva for your application type before you print. For Aadhaar, see Aadhaar card and photo size.
If the form also caps the file size (for example “maximum 2 MB”, or a KB limit), check the downloaded JPG. A file that is too heavy can be brought down with the image compressor or the passport photo under 100 KB tool.
Passport photo maker: common questions
How do I create a passport size photo with a white background?
Take the photo against a plain white wall, or first replace the background with the background remover. Then upload it here, pick 3.5 × 4.5 cm (or the size your form names), set zoom and position, and download the JPG.
Does this tool remove the background?
No. It crops and sizes the photo you give it. The white fill appears only where the photo does not cover the frame, for example if you zoom out below 100%.
My form says 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm. Which preset is that?
Pick 3.5 × 4.5 cm. It is the same size written width first: 3.5 cm wide and 4.5 cm tall, saved as 413 × 531 px at 300 DPI. If the form also sets a file-size limit, check the saved file against it before uploading.
Can I print the passport photos at home?
Yes. Download 4-up Sheet saves four copies in a 2 × 2 grid, about 7.5 × 9.5 cm at 300 DPI. Print it at 100% (actual size), not fit to page, and cut along the white gaps.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. The photo is cropped on a canvas inside your browser tab and saved from there. Nothing is sent to StitchMagic.
