Runs entirely in your browser · your photo is never uploaded anywhere · no signup · tolerance-based colour key, not AI segmentation — works best on a plain backdrop

It changes a plain, even background to white, and only to white. It reads the colour in the four corners of your photo and clears everything close to that colour, then centres the piece on a white square. It is a colour key, not AI: on a busy or patterned background it removes nothing and tells you so.

Want to remove jewellery from a photo of yourself? This tool does not do that. It removes the backdrop behind a piece of jewellery, not the jewellery from a person.

How to remove the background from a jewellery photo

  1. Lay or hang the piece on a plain white sheet, with the sheet filling all four corners of the frame.
  2. Drop the photo into the box above, or tap it to choose one.
  3. Pick the output size: 1000, 2000 or 1200 px square.
  4. If the backdrop is not fully cleared, move the Background sensitivity slider up; if the piece starts to fade, move it down.
  5. Tap Download PNG.

For a photo that is not jewellery, the same tool is on the background remover page, and every other image tool is on the tools page.

What jewellery photos does it work on?

Plain backdrop, even light, corners clear. The tool decides what the background is from the four corners alone. If one corner has a shadow, a hand, the edge of a table or a vignette, the corners do not match and nothing is removed.

Thin chains and the gaps inside hoops come through. The key works pixel by pixel on colour, not by guessing the shape, so a fine chain stays as long as it is a different colour from the sheet, and the backdrop showing inside a hoop or a jhumka is cleared like the rest.

Shoot silver, kundan and diamonds on white, not grey. The tool clears whatever is close to the backdrop colour. On a white sheet, bright highlights that get cleared land on white anyway, so nothing visibly changes. On a grey sheet, grey parts of a silver piece can be cleared and turn white.

Velvet works if it is one even colour, but dark stones, oxidised silver or black beads close to a dark velvet will fade. Lower the sensitivity, or reshoot on white.

Can you change the background to another colour?

No. The only background this tool produces is pure white. If you want a coloured or scene background, this is not the tool for it.

Soft shadows under a ring are darker than the sheet, so they usually stay as a grey patch; raise the sensitivity to clear more of them, or light the piece from both sides so the shadow is faint.

What size is the download?

A square PNG of 1000 × 1000, 2000 × 2000 or 1200 × 1200 px on white. The piece is scaled to fit inside an 8% margin on every side, never cropped. A 1500 × 2000 px photo at 1000 px comes out 630 × 840 px centred on white. (Tool code, read 18 Oct 2026.)

The size labels in the tool are presets, not marketplace rules. Check the image rules in your seller panel before you upload. To bring the file under a KB limit, use the image resizer; to sharpen a soft phone photo first, the HD photo converter; for a square profile picture, the WhatsApp DP resizer.

Frequently asked questions

How do I remove the background from a jewellery photo?

Shoot the piece on a plain white sheet that fills all four corners, drop the photo into the tool, pick 1000, 2000 or 1200 px and download the PNG. Adjust Background sensitivity if the sheet is not fully cleared.

Can it remove jewellery from a photo of a person?

No. It removes the plain backdrop behind a piece of jewellery; it does not erase jewellery you are wearing in a photo.

Can I change the background to a different colour?

No. It changes a plain background to pure white only. It does not add coloured or scene backgrounds.

Is it AI?

No. It is a colour key: it reads the colour in the four corners and clears pixels close to it. That is why it needs a plain, even backdrop and does nothing on a busy one (tool code, 18 Oct 2026).

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The photo is processed on a canvas in your browser and the PNG is saved straight to your device. There is no sign-up and no download gate.
