Meesho shipping charges: where the number comes from
The seller pays the forward shipping on every order, and Meesho adds 18% GST on the shipping charge (pricing page, 4 Oct 2026). Meesho does not print a per-kilo rate, a slab table or a formula on the pages we read, so no page outside your Supplier Panel can tell you the charge for your parcel. Take the amount your panel shows for the product and price with it.
For a seller without a regular GSTIN, Meesho’s wording changes from deliveries “across India” to “within the state”; see selling on Meesho without GST. Every other Meesho fee, from 0% commission to the 7-day payout, is in our Meesho seller charges list.
Worked example: a ₹70 shipping charge inside your payout
Our own example, not a Meesho rate: a ₹399 kurti at 5% GST with a ₹70 shipping charge. GST on shipping is 18% × ₹70 = ₹12.60; after 0.5% TCS (₹1.90) and 0.1% TDS (₹0.40), the bank settlement is ₹399 − ₹70 − ₹12.60 − ₹2.30 = ₹314.10 per delivered order (our arithmetic, 4 Oct 2026, with Meesho’s 18% and the PIB and Income Tax rates). Shipping and its GST take ₹82.60 of the ₹399. The Meesho seller calculator opens on these numbers; replace ₹70 with the charge in your panel.
Meesho shipping charges reduce: what you can change
Meesho names one physical input on its shipping page: the return fee is “based on the weight of the shipment” (shipping page, 4 Oct 2026). The parcel is the part you control, so change it and then read the new charge in the panel:
- Soft goods in a polybag, not a box. A kurti or saree does not need a carton; a flat mailer is lighter and smaller.
- Right-size the mailer. Stock two or three sizes so a small item does not travel in a big packet.
- Drop filler on unbreakable items. Keep bubble wrap for glass, ceramics and jewellery boxes.
- Weigh a packed parcel before you list. Price with the packed parcel, not the bare product.
- Cut returns. A customer return costs a fee and an RTO costs nothing, so clear photos and a true size chart save more than any shipping trick.
How to pack and label the parcel step by step is in packing a Meesho parcel; what happens to a return is in Meesho returns for sellers.
Meesho image shipping charges: do photos change the charge?
Not on Meesho’s own pages. None of the seven Meesho seller pages we read on 4 Oct 2026 links product photos to the shipping charge, yet 7 of the 9 results for “meesho image generator” that day were “low shipping” tools. We build Meesho image tools, and we do not claim they lower shipping.
What photos do decide is whether a catalog passes and gets clicked. Meesho publishes no pixel size for product images; 1000 × 1000 px is our recommendation, explained in the Meesho image guide. Our Meesho image generator makes that square on white from a phone photo.
Frequently asked questions
What is no weight slab shipping on Meesho?
Meesho does not print weight slabs or a rate card on the pages we read on 4 Oct 2026: its how-it-works page says only that it charges "the lowest shipping cost for deliveries across India". The charge for your product is the one your Supplier Panel shows; for returns, Meesho says the fee is based on the weight of the shipment.
How are Meesho shipping charges calculated?
Meesho publishes no formula. The seller pays forward shipping at what Meesho calls the lowest shipping cost, plus 18% GST on the shipping charge (Meesho how-it-works and pricing pages, checked 4 Oct 2026). Take the amount your Supplier Panel shows for the product.
How can I reduce Meesho shipping charges?
Change the parcel, not the listing. Meesho ties the return fee to the weight of the shipment (shipping page, checked 4 Oct 2026), so a lighter, tighter parcel is the input you control; then check the new charge in your panel. A clear listing also cuts returns, and an RTO costs nothing.
Does the product image change Meesho shipping charges?
Not on Meesho’s own pages, and the same goes for "low shipping" image generators: none of the seven Meesho seller pages we read on 4 Oct 2026 links product photos to the shipping charge. A photo helps the listing get approved and clicked; it is not an input Meesho names for shipping.
Is there GST on Meesho shipping charges?
Yes, 18% of the shipping charge, per Meesho’s pricing page (checked 4 Oct 2026). On a ₹70 shipping charge, our own example, that is ₹12.60.
Who pays shipping on Meesho returns and RTO?
On a customer return the seller pays a return shipping fee based on the weight of the shipment, sometimes waived; on an RTO, a parcel that was never delivered, Meesho charges no return shipping fee (Meesho shipping and pricing pages, checked 4 Oct 2026).
