Myntra image guidelines for product photography

How to shoot a set of product photos that meets Myntra’s image rules.

By StitchMagic team · Last checked 18 October 2026

Myntra’s image guidelines, as Fynd’s Myntra documentation states them: 3:4 portrait, 1080 × 1440 px or more, JPEG only, 500 KB to 1 MB, white or light grey background, and “professional photoshoots” (an integrator’s documentation, read 18 Oct 2026; Myntra’s own portal shows no guideline logged out). Six steps to a set that meets them:

  1. 1

Set the camera to 3:4 portrait

Myntra images are 3:4, 1080 × 1440 px or more (Fynd’s Myntra documentation). Shooting in 3:4 means nothing is cropped or stretched later.

  2. 2

Use a white or light grey backdrop

The background Fynd’s documentation names. A plain sheet or wall in daylight is enough to start.

  3. 3

    Remove tags and stickers

No price tag, sticker or product tag may show in the image, and no text or watermark. Steam the garment so creases do not read as defects.

  4. 4

    Shoot five views

Front, back, side, a close-up of fabric or print, and one more detail. Bulk listing takes 5 to 7 images per style.

  5. 5

    Check every frame is sharp

Blurred or pixelated images are not allowed, and no part of the product may be out of focus. Zoom in on the phone before you move on.

  6. 6

    Export 1080 × 1440 JPEG, 500 KB to 1 MB

Only JPEG is accepted. The e-commerce image resizer has a 1080 × 1440 Myntra preset that pads, never crops.

Why Myntra rejects product photos

Fynd’s Myntra documentation lists what an image must not be (read 18 Oct 2026). Each line below is one of those rules with the fix we use.

Cropped, extended or elongated

Start from a 3:4 photo. To fit another shape, pad with white rather than stretch.

Price tag, sticker or product tag showing

Take tags off or tuck them in before the shoot; retouching them out later takes longer.

Text or watermark in the image

Keep the brand name for the listing text. The photo carries the product only.

Blurred, pixelated, or part out of focus

Shoot in daylight, hold the phone on a stack of books or a tripod, and tap to focus on the fabric.

Size and file problems (wrong ratio, over 1 MB, PNG instead of JPEG) are covered on the Myntra image size page.

Myntra fashion photography: what to shoot by category

Fynd’s documentation asks for “professional photoshoots” but lists no views by category. These are the sets we would shoot; they are our method, not Myntra’s rule.

Kurtas, dresses, tops

Front and back on a model or a dress form, a side view for fit, a fabric close-up, and the neckline or embroidery.

Footwear

Outer side of one shoe, the pair from the front, top-down, the sole and the heel from behind.

Bags and accessories

Front, back, the inside open, a close-up of the hardware or finish, and one in a hand for scale.

Myntra photographer or studio?

Myntra’s partner portal lists “Myntra Studio” among its seller offerings but does not describe it on the open page (read 3 Oct 2026). Ask your Myntra contact whether it covers catalogue shoots before you book an outside photographer.

Before you upload

Check the image step in your Myntra partner account against Partner University, which the portal lists for “Myntra’s processes & policies” (read 3 Oct 2026). Our Myntra seller guide covers sign-in and fees.

Selling on Meesho too?

Frequently asked questions

What are Myntra’s image guidelines?

Per Fynd’s Myntra documentation (read 18 Oct 2026): 3:4 portrait, 1080 × 1440 px or more, JPEG only, 500 KB to 1 MB, white or light grey background, professional photoshoots, and no price tags, stickers, text, watermarks or blurred images.

What is the Myntra image ratio?

3:4 portrait. Fynd’s documentation also says images must not be cropped, extended or elongated, so shoot in 3:4 from the start.

Does Myntra need a model in product photos?

The documentation we could read does not say so. It asks for professional photoshoots. For apparel we shoot on a model or a dress form so the fit shows.

How should I photograph footwear for Myntra?

Fynd’s documentation lists no footwear views. We shoot the outer side, the pair from the front, top-down, the sole and the heel, as 3:4 JPEGs on white or light grey.

Can I shoot Myntra product photos on a phone?

The rules are about the result: sharp, 1080 × 1440 px or more, plain background, no tags. A recent phone in daylight can meet them; check focus on every frame.
