A t-shirt, a shirt and a pair of jeans sit in three different HSN headings (6109, 6205, 6203), and a pant-shirt piece is fabric in chapter 52. Garments pay 5% GST up to ₹2,500 a piece and 18% above, from 22 Sept 2025.

Best mens wholesale clothing market in India: where it is sourced

Menswear has no single best market; it depends on which garment you buy. For t-shirts and other knitwear, official records point to Tirupur. A President of India address calls Tirupur “the hub of hosiery production in the country”, declared a Town of Export Excellence under Exim Policy 2002–07 (presidentofindia.gov.in, read 23 Oct 2026).

For shirts and trousers, our Delhi wholesale cloth market guide lists the markets and what to inspect on a buying trip. We name no city for denim or winterwear, since no official source we found ranks one.

Pant shirt ka kapda wholesale mein lete waqt yaad rakhiye: yeh kapda hai, garment nahi, isliye HSN mein fabric line lagti hai, jaise shirting ke liye 5208 32 30, aur GST 5% hai. Har piece kitne metre ka hai aur kapde ki width kitni hai, supplier se likhit mein lijiye.

Low price shirts for wholesale: what to check first

Fibre content, in writing

A lower shirt quote can mean a different fibre. GST portal lines give men’s cotton shirts 6205 20 00 and man-made fibre shirts 6205 30 00 (checked 23 Oct 2026), so “cotton feel” on a shirt quote settles nothing. Have fibre split printed on each invoice.

GSM on knitwear

GSM is fabric weight in grams per square metre. Ask for GSM as a number; it lets you compare two t-shirt suppliers honestly rather than by feel. The GST portal itself splits woven cotton fabric at 200 g/m²: 5208 up to 200, 5209 above.

Shrinkage

Ask each t-shirt and shirt supplier “is it pre-shrunk?”, and get that answer on paper before printing measurements in any listing.

Neck rib and shoulder seam

Pull one tee’s neck rib per carton, then run your thumb along its shoulder seam. Loose rib or skipped stitches show without tools.

Stretch content on denim

Rigid and high-stretch denim fit differently and come back for different reasons. Ask for stretch percentage; check wash consistency across each jeans lot in daylight.

Wholesale mens clothing for Meesho, Flipkart, Amazon and WhatsApp

Plain t-shirts, shirts and jeans are found through filters: shoppers on Meesho, Flipkart or Amazon pick size, fabric and colour, so put size and fibre where those filters can read them. WhatsApp suits repeat orders. Customers who liked one shirt’s fit ask for it again, which works only if you keep buying from one supplier lot instead of switching for cheaper quotes.

Pant shirt piece wholesale: buying fabric instead of garments

A pant-shirt piece is unstitched shirt and trouser fabric sold as one set, so it carries fabric lines, not garment codes. On GST portal lists, shirt length sits under SHIRTING FABRICS, 5208 32 30 (cotton up to 200 g/m²) or 5209 21 20 (above); trouser length sits under TROUSERS OR PANT FABRICS (EXCLUDING JEANS AND CREPE), 5211 32 40, for cotton below 85% blended with man-made fibre. Woven cotton fabrics of 5208–5212 pay 5% GST under Notification 9/2025-IT(Rate), Schedule I S.No. 334.

Ask for metres per piece plus fabric width in writing; price per pant-shirt set means little until you know both. For stitched shirts and jeans, ask whether a partial size run is sold before assuming you must take every size. We print no rates: a shirt rate without fibre and GSM describes nothing.

Wholesale mens clothing suppliers: what to ask before you pay

Four questions settle menswear quotes before any money moves:

  1. Fibre and GSM, written on the quote.
  2. Which HSN line gets printed on your invoice.
  3. GST band per piece, worked on invoice value rather than MRP.
  4. Whether a size run can be split.

Menswear suppliers who will not put fibre on invoices are selling shirts you cannot list accurately.

We are building a list of menswear suppliers by garment and by whether they will split a size run. Every number on it comes from a supplier who asked to be listed.

Your number is used to send the list and nothing else.

Cotton shirt wholesale price: what changes your margin

GST band follows invoice price per piece, not MRP. CBIC’s GST rates FAQ says sale value in garment entries “refers to the transaction value and not the retail sale price”. So two cotton shirts invoiced at ₹2,400 and ₹2,600 a piece land in different bands: 5% (₹120 tax) and 18% (₹468 tax), per rates in this PIB release on the 56th GST Council. Our calculator below starts from example figures, marked as such; put in your own shirt purchase price, selling price and fees.

Same garment, three channels

The numbers below are example inputs. Replace each one with your own: your cost and price, your shipping and return fees from the Meesho Supplier Panel, and the return rates and ad spend from your own orders.

On these example numbers the same piece leaves ₹104 more per order on WhatsApp than on Meesho — which is the argument for choosing the channel before choosing the stock. For the full picture including GST and a target margin, use the break-even calculator.

T-shirt, shirt and jeans HSN codes for your listing

Jeans do not have their own HSN code. DGCIS chapter 62 has no tariff line named jeans or denim; jeans are trousers classified by wearer and fibre, so men’s cotton jeans take 6203 42 00, filed as 6203 42 90 “Other” unless handloom (6203 42 10) (GST portal, checked 23 Oct 2026).

A cotton t-shirt is 6109 10 00; a synthetic t-shirt 6109 90 10 (GST portal, checked 23 Oct 2026). Fill whichever line matches fibre on your purchase invoice. Full tables: t-shirt HSN code, shirt HSN code and jeans HSN code pages.

In each listing, state chest, length and waist in inches for every size, measured after washing. Menswear either fits or comes back; a clear size chart sells t-shirts and shirts better than one more angle of one shirt.

Frequently asked questions

Where is mens clothing bought wholesale in India?

Tirupur, for t-shirts and other knitwear; it was named a Town of Export Excellence under Exim Policy 2002–07 (presidentofindia.gov.in, read 23 Oct 2026). Delhi’s cloth markets: see our Delhi market page.

What is GSM and why does it matter for t-shirts?

GSM is fabric weight in grams per square metre. Compare t-shirt suppliers on GSM as a number; even tariff headings split woven cotton fabric at 200 g/m² (GST portal, 23 Oct 2026).

What should I check in low price shirts for wholesale?

Fibre content and GSM in writing, then the HSN line and GST band on each invoice. Cotton shirt: 6205 20 00; man-made fibre shirt: 6205 30 00 (GST portal).

What GST applies to mens clothing bought wholesale?

5% if transaction value is up to ₹2,500 a piece, 18% above, since 22 Sept 2025 (PIB, 56th GST Council). That value means invoice price, not MRP (CBIC GST rates FAQ).

Do jeans have their own HSN code?

No. Jeans are trousers classified by wearer and fibre; men’s cotton jeans take 6203 42 00 (GST portal, checked 23 Oct 2026).

What is a pant shirt piece?

Unstitched shirt and trouser fabric sold as one set, so it carries fabric lines such as SHIRTING FABRICS (5208 32 30) rather than garment codes, with 5% GST as woven cotton fabric.
