Gandhi Nagar market Delhi: ready-made garments, and how to reach it
Take the Red Line to Shastri Park and leave by Gate No. 1, which DMRC signs “towards Gandhi Nagar Market”. Its station page puts Gandhi Nagar 2 km away: about 20 minutes on foot, or 10 by public transport.
Older guides also name Seelampur. Its DMRC page signs Gate No. 1 towards GT Road and has no Gandhi Nagar entry, so we do not route you there.
Delhi Government’s 2022-23 budget speech calls Gandhi Nagar a “readymade garment and textile market” and announced plans to develop it as a “Grand Garment Hub”. So it is a first stop for resellers of stitched stock. Read kurtis wholesale, ladies suits wholesale or men’s clothing wholesale first, so you arrive knowing the sizes and price band you want.
Chandni Chowk cloth market: Katra Neel and Kinari Bazaar
Chandni Chowk is where Delhi Tourism sends buyers for fabric and trims. Delhi Tourism’s page, read on 23 Oct 2026, says “the cloth bazaar of Katra Neel offers all kinds of fabrics such as silks, satin, crepe, cotton and muslin”, and calls Kinari Bazaar the place for “zari and zardozi trimmings and tinsel”.
At Chandni Chowk station (Yellow Line), Gate No. 5 is signed for Chandni Chowk, Khari Baoli and Sadar Bazar, and DMRC lists Chandni Chowk Market 0.4 km away.

Best clothes market in Delhi: match the market to your stock
Going to the wrong bazaar wastes a whole trip. Decide your category before travelling:
- Ready-made garments: go to Gandhi Nagar or Ajmal Khan Road in Karol Bagh, which Delhi Tourism describes as “famous for inexpensive readymades, cotton yarn and embroidered garments”. Not Katra Neel, which sells cloth rather than finished pieces.
- Fabric for stitching: go to Katra Neel in Chandni Chowk.
- Trims, zari and lace: go to Kinari Bazaar in Chandni Chowk.
Sadar Bazar is signed from Chandni Chowk Gate No. 5 as well as from Tis Hazari, but no official page we read says what it trades, so treat it as a place to ask about rather than plan around.
Planning a first buying trip to Delhi’s wholesale markets
- Pick one bazaar from our table by what you sell.
- Ride to its station and use whichever gate DMRC lists: Shastri Park Gate No. 1 for Gandhi Nagar, Chandni Chowk Gate No. 5, Karol Bagh Gate No. 1 for Ajmal Khan Road.
- Phone the shop to confirm it is open that day. Guides give different closing days for Gandhi Nagar and Karol Bagh, so this page prints none.
- Ask each shop three questions: rate at a quantity you can take, whether a design repeats next month, and who bears a defective piece. Write answers down before moving on.
- Photograph your transport docket before bundles leave a shop. It is your record if a parcel goes missing on its way home.
