Nighty cloth is mostly light woven cotton. GST portal search names three cloths nighty stitchers ask for, cambrics, voiles, long cloth, each on its own line by finish: bleached, dyed or printed. Quote these names back to cloth sellers; they pin down weave plus finish.

Thin cambric shows through when wet or backlit. Hold two samples up to daylight side by side; pick whichever hides your hand.
Pre-shrunk, then measured washed
Cotton nighties can shrink after washing. Wash one sample, dry it, then measure; stitch or list from those washed numbers.
Length plus shoulder, measured
Nighty labels say Free Size or XL; buyers need length and shoulder width in inches. Take both off a finished nighty yourself.
Colour bleeding
Dark printed cambric can bleed onto light grounds. Rub a damp white cloth on samples; add a wash-separately line wherever colour transfers.
Cloth name, width, finish
For metre lots, ask cambric, voile or long cloth by name, plus bleached, dyed or printed, matching our table. Ask width too; panel layouts change how many nighties each metre yields.
Nighty wholesale: which channel suits which nighty
Printed cotton nighties sell on search: shoppers filter by fabric, size, colour. Nighty sellers there keep 0% commission; Meesho’s pricing page says so for all categories (4 Oct 2026). Nighty wholesale market: cloth lots vs finished-piece lots
- Decide cloth or finished nighties. Cloth by the metre needs local stitching; finished nighties arrive ready to list.
- Name type plus finish. Cloth: cambric, voile or long cloth, bleached, dyed or printed. Finished nighties: woven or knitted, since that moves the line from 6208 to 6108 (GST portal, read 11 Oct 2026).
- Get minimums in writing. Metre lots or piece lots, minimums belong to each seller; we print none.

Check invoice lines against goods. Woven cotton nighties: 6208 21 90 (6208 21 10 if handloom). Knitted cotton nighties: 6108 31 00. Cloth sellers bill a 5208 line instead (GST portal HSN master, read 11 and 23 Oct 2026). Nighties billed on cloth lines, or cloth on nightdress lines, make trouble at resale.

Listing HSN fields take nightdress lines, 6208 21 90 or 6108 31 00, not cloth lines. Name fabric plainly: cotton cambric, cotton voile. Give nighty length plus shoulder in inches.
